2. Client Background

The client is a renewable energy storage company based in Chile, operating in the new energy storage sector. Their application involves Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) containers deployed in desert-like environments where extreme heat and dust are common. Reliable thermal management is critical to maintaining battery performance and safety.


3. Project Requirements and Challenges

The client faced two major challenges. First, the BESS containers needed to operate in ambient temperatures reaching up to 50°C, which exceeds the capability of standard cooling units. Second, the cooling solution required an IP56 protection rating to resist dust and water ingress, along with remote monitoring capabilities for real-time system management. Conventional air conditioners failed to meet these environmental and functional demands.


4. Our Solution

We provided the CTACC12500WEP model, a dedicated energy storage air conditioner designed for harsh conditions. Key features include:

High-efficiency compressor for reliable cooling at 50°C ambient temperature

IP55-rated enclosure, ensuring dust-tight and water-resistant operation

Integrated RS485 remote communication module for real-time monitoring and control

Compact design for external pre-installation on BESS containers

This cabinet cooling solution delivers stable thermal regulation while minimizing energy consumption, directly addressing the client’s operational needs.


5. Installation and Deployment Process

All units were pre-installed externally on the BESS containers before deployment. The CTACC12500WEP supports quick wiring, reducing on-site installation time significantly. Delivery took four weeks from order confirmation, followed by remote technical support to integrate the RS485 module with the client’s central monitoring system. The entire process was collaborative and completed without operational downtime.


6. Project Results and Client Feedback

After deployment, the energy storage air conditioner maintained consistent internal temperatures even during peak heatwaves, with no overheating-related shutdowns. The client reported improved battery cycle efficiency and lower auxiliary power use compared to previous solutions. Highly satisfied with performance and remote monitoring features, the client placed a repeat order of 30 additional units. Their feedback emphasized reliability, ease of integration, and robust protection in extreme conditions.
